Loony Tunes

I'm sure that most of you think that I was being a bit over dramatic when I posted a pulse about hanging out with the antichrist.  Trust me, though, I was not joking in the slightest.  I'm going to highlight the events of my night and narrate them with gifs of my reactions to each thing he said.  Oh, and please note that I have hung out with this kids numerous times and never before has he spurted such insane bullshit from his mouth.
"I inadvertently opened the gates of hell.  I apologize to you guys for anything that happens in the following months."
"The earthquake in Japan happened because of me."  And when I asked him to elaborate upon that statement he said, "The events leading up to the earthquake coincided with the events in my life."
"God is in the darkness, all you have to do is search."
"I literally had a band of demons inside me."  Oh, yeah?  What kind of instruments did they play?
"I am the first soldier.  One day Zeus and his wife Aphrodite (or power and love, according to him) will come back to the world."  This is where I started getting pretty upset.  I told him that I would continue to listen to what he had to say, but that I don't agree with him in the slightest.  He then proceeded to tell me that if I don't ever come to believe and accept Zeus and Aphrodite as my gods, I will die a horrible and painful death.  To which I said:
Fuck you!  Nah, not really.  But I did tell him that I would just have to die because I would never accept something like that as the true way to God.  Not never.  He kept telling me that power and love are one and the same and that you are loved because you are powerful.  Maybe I'm just weird, but I've always loved God because I love God, not because I am afraid of what he will do to me.  Yeah, the thought of hell scares me.  But it's Heaven that makes me believe in God.  Fear is not my motivation.  Love is.  And my God would never take away my free will.

Confessions of a Compulsive Window Shopper

A friend of mine is getting married next Saturday, and I just so happen to be in desperate need of some new threads, so today after work I went shopping with my best friend!  We're co-workers (I work the 9-5:30 shift, and she works the 5:30-7) so during the hour and half she worked, I browsed through the mall's stores.  Which, if I'm being completely honest, really suck.  Thankfully, though, we're going to get a renovation sometime soon.  There have been contractors and whatnot all over the mall for the past month or so and they're all being pretty hush hush about it, so I'm assuming it's going to be something big.  Wait....where was I?  Oh yeah, browsing through the mall's stores!
The first store where I looked for a dress was Deb, but I normally find their attire just a bit too flashy for my tastes.  So onward I went to American Eagle.  Okay, okay.  I knew I wasn't going to find a dress to wear to my friend's wedding in American Eagle, but it's my favorite store so I just couldn't resist going inside and trying something on.  In my defense, I did try one dress on while in American Eagle, but as you can tell from the picture below, the comfy shirt and adorable jean shorts clearly stole my attention.

Sadly, I had to part ways with both items because they were too expensive :(  But never fear, I get paid next Friday!  Those shorts shall be mine!  Eeeeeeeep!  They're soo cute.  Every time I see them, it tempts me even more to buy them.
Okay, so then I attempted to do some real dress shopping.  And by that I mean that I went to PacSun.  But PacSun was full of fail tonight, and I couldn't even find anything to try on.  Which seriously sucked.
I still had some time to kill before I went back to the mall office to meet Sabrina so I stopped in at Aeropostale to see what they had to offer.  They were having an awesome sale, and I'm like a freaking bloodhound when it comes to sniffing out good deals on clothes.  So in I went.  I found the dress below.
And although I liked it, I just couldn't fall in love with it.  Also, it was $14.99, which really isn't that much in perspective, but I'm used to finding an entire outfit for around twenty bucks.  So yeah, I didn't want to spend that much on a measly sorta cute dress that was only going to sit in my closet until I wore it once, then go back into my closet to sit for the next six months until I decide to take it to Plato's Closet.  It just wasn't doing it for me, so I passed.
Once Sabrina closed the office, we headed over to Ross to see if they had any cute clothes.  As always, Ross did not disappoint.  We walked in, grabbed about six of the silliest, sexiest, sluttiest outfits we could put together and sauntered off the the dressing room.  It's been a long time since the two of us have had the pleasure of sharing an evening shopping, so we milked it for everything it was worth :D  Among the outfits we tried on, I grabbed a fitted, zip-up romper, and a zebra printed one shoulder romper.  And believe me, some girls can pull off a romper.  I, however, am not one of those girls.  Needless to say, I looked ridiculous in both of them.  And no, I do not have pictures.
Sabrina found a shirt that she loved, but I failed to find anything that really popped out at me.  We were headed up to the cash register and we decided to have a little looksie at the dresses.  Good idea, considering I was supposed to be there to shop for a dress.  After picking up a few dresses that would have been perfect for a prom, I spotted it.  The perfect creation for Caelyn's wedding.  It was grey, and made from that super soft, breathable cotton fabric that I love so much.  Unfortunately, it was an XL.  Curses.  I hate finding the perfect dress only to discover that it's two sizes too small or just a size too large, and believe me, this happens to me ALL THE TIME!  I'm stubborn, so I decided that I was still going to try the grey dress on despite the fact that it would be too big, when I spotted it.  This time it was in green, and even lovelier than the grey.  I grabbed the tag only to discover that this, too, was an XL dress.  Foiled again by those sneaky devils at Ross.  I weighed my three options, I could either:  try the grey dress on and see if I could make it work, scour the racks of dresses for my size, or just let it go and go to a department store where they have a million of everything.  I was musing over my potential choices when Sabrina held it up.  It.  What I had been waiting for all night.  The dress I was going to wear to Caelyn's wedding, my mom's rehearsal dinner, and any other formal function I could think of until the end of the summer.  The dress of my life.
Simple, yet fantastic.  It was turquoise, which is my favorite color to wear.  Actually, I love pretty much anything turquoise.

Needless to say, I bought the dress.  And at $8.99, it was a steal!  It's a bit more daring than what I'm used to.  But, fuck, every girl deserves to have at least one daring outfit in her wardrobe.  This is mine :)

Leggings As Pants

There seems to be a heated debate circulating around the fashion world about whether or not a person can pull off wearing leggings as pants.  I'll admit, I've seen a lot of great arguments for both sides of the issue, but I'm going to have to side with those people who say it's acceptable to wear leggings as pants.  To provide you with adequate proof, I will demonstrate a way to wear leggings as pants with pictures.
Well, it's rainy today so the sundress I was considering was completely out of the question.  Instead, I decided to wear a dark blue blouse from New York and Company with my yellow sweater from Old Navy.  Along with the blouse and sweater, I wore a pair of basic black leggings and my rain boots.
Here is a picture of my polka dot rain boots with the whole outfit.  What do you think?  Would you wear leggings as pants or should they be strictly confined to the gym and under dresses/skirts?

How I Wear Scarves

I'm not big into scarf fashion, however, I will wear them occasionally. While searching for pretty items today, I stumbled upon this wonderful stone embellished scarf for $25 from topshop.com. I paired it with a baby doll-type embellished sleeveless shirt, but you could try pairing it with a fitted tan, navy, or black t-shirt instead. I liked the slouchy jeans because it dresses down the outfit without creating a frumpy look. Last, but most certainly not least are the nude shoes with a touch of floral. What do you think? Do you like it or no?

5 ModCloth Dresses I'm Totally Lusting After

I recently came across this beautiful dress from ModCloth and decided to accessorize it. If I were to buy this dress, I'd try to wear it with an over-sized cardigan or slouchy jacket like the one pictured above. You could also pair the dress with sandals during the spring and summer or tights with boots during the fall and winter.

I don't know about you, but I'm certainly craving warmer weather. April's showers may bring May's flowers, but I just want the sunshine to make an appearance! Alas, I'll just have to settle with creating cute summer outfits to match my wishful thinking. What do you think of the candy striped shirt and brown sandals? Simplicity and cuteness. What more could you need?

Dudes, 5 Fashion Faux Pas

Unless they're gay or so metro they may as well be gay, most men don't know the first thing about fashion.  That being said, it is up to us women, to forgive them of small fashion faux pas.  However, there are a few items worn by men that they should never ever see the light of day again.  So here is my list of 5 fashion deal breakers where men are concerned:
